Earthmoving Field Service Technician – JHB, CPT

Education and experience:

• Minimum of Five years’ experience in a related field of work – Fixing and maintaining Earthmoving
• Must currently stay in CPT or very near, must be quite familiar with the area
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic – Trade Tested.
• Valid Driver’s Licence

Required Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in computers and windows packages strongly preferred.
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and without close supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble and service equipment as assigned by the Workshop Manager.
• Document machine information and repairs completed on Job Cards and responsible for submitting accurate Daily Reports and other required paperwork.
• Maintain technical and product knowledge on all Machines and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
• Maintain a clean work area, as well as care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
• Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of the company.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends and stand by when necessary.
