Team Lead: BI Analyst

Our client is looking for a Senior BI Analyst – Team Lead to turn data into actionable insights that support business decisions. The role covers the full BI lifecycle, including data analysis, reporting, database development, and performance optimisation. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and leadership-focused, with the ability to guide teams, manage projects, and ensure successful delivery aligned to client and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Conduct data analysis, reporting, and database development to support business needs.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, mapping, and transformation across reporting solutions.
• Prepare analytical reports and maintain reporting procedures.

Project Leadership and Oversight:
• Guide and mentor team members while overseeing project delivery and quality standards.
• Identify and manage technical and project risks proactively.
• Maintain strong client communication and drive continuous improvement within the team.

Technical Contribution and Innovation:
• Research and implement innovative BI technologies and solutions.
• Support migrations to modern BI platforms and document technical processes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align reporting and information strategies.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:
• Lead development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor junior consultants and support team growth.
• Translate business objectives into measurable and executable project outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
• Tertiary degree, diploma, or certificate in a related field (e.g. Computer Science, BIT, Informatics).

Experience and Knowledge:
• 7+ years’ experience as a BI Reporting Analyst, Database Developer, or Software Consultant.
• Strong knowledge of database design and data analytics, particularly Power BI.
• 5+ years’ experience with the following technologies and tools:
• Tableau and Power BI.
• MS SQL, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Hive, Pig, Flume, Sqoop, Uzi, and Spark.
• Alteryx, Python, and R.
• Database warehousing, consolidation, and reporting.

Technical Expertise:
• Business Intelligence and Analytics: Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS.
• Database Technologies: MS SQL, data warehousing, database consolidation.
• Big Data Tools: Hive, Pig, Spark, Sqoop, Flume.
• Programming Languages: Python, R.
• Predictive Analytics: Alteryx.
• Development and Reporting Frameworks: Agile methodologies, design patterns, and transformation tools.
