Mid-Level BI Analyst Consultant

The BI Analyst is responsible for translating data into meaningful insights that support business decision-making.
The role involves working across the full BI lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data modelling, report development, and ongoing optimisation of reporting solutions.
This role requires a strong balance between technical capability and business engagement, with a focus on delivering reliable, high-quality insights to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification (degree, diploma, or certificate) in relevant field (Computer Science, IT, Informatics, or Data Analytics)
  • 4+ years’ experience as BI Analyst, Database Developer, or similar role
  • Solid understanding of database design and data analytics (preferably Power BI)
  • At least 3+ years’ experience in most of the below tools/technologies:
  • Power BI and/or Tableau
  • MS SQL
  • SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
  • Exposure to Big Data tools (e.g., Hive, Spark, etc.)
  • Exposure to predictive analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, Alteryx)
  • Data warehousing, data consolidation, and reporting

Our client is looking for a Senior BI Analyst – Team Lead to turn data into actionable insights that support business decisions. The role covers the full BI lifecycle, including data analysis, reporting, database development, and performance optimisation. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and leadership-focused, with the ability to guide teams, manage projects, and ensure successful delivery aligned to client and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Conduct data analysis, reporting, and database development to support business needs.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, mapping, and transformation across reporting solutions.
• Prepare analytical reports and maintain reporting procedures.

Project Leadership and Oversight:
• Guide and mentor team members while overseeing project delivery and quality standards.

• 7+ years’ experience as a BI Reporting Analyst, Database Developer, or Software Consultant.
• Strong knowledge of database design and data analytics, particularly Power BI.
• 5+ years’ experience with the following technologies and tools:
• Tableau and Power BI.
• MS SQL, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS.
• Hive, Pig, Flume, Sqoop, Uzi, and Spark.
• Alteryx, Python, and R.
• Database warehousing, consolidation, and reporting.

Technical Expertise:
• Business Intelligence and Analytics: Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS.
• Database Technologies: MS SQL, data warehousing, database consolidation.
• Big Data Tools: Hive, Pig, Spark, Sqoop, Flume.
• Programming Languages: Python, R.
• Predictive Analytics: Alteryx.
• Development and Reporting Frameworks: Agile methodologies, design patterns, and transformation tools.
